The CIBC Office of Sustainable Finance just completed their secondTransformative Business Law Summer Academy.

The CIBC Office of Sustainable Finance (OSF) under Ŀ;’s Sustainable Growth Initiative is an interdepartmental initiative between Desautels Faculty of Management and Ŀ;’s Faculty of Law, specifically the Faculty’s inaugural ‘Business Law Platform.’ Since 2022, the Office has been led by Professor Peer Zumbansen, an internationally renowned scholar and award-winning teacher in corporate law, comparative private law, transnational regulatory governance and climate change governance.

The OSF has been instrumental in fostering a number of joint innovations, including the launch of Ŀ;’s first-ever research paper series with the Social Sciences Research Network, the , the Business & Society Speaker and Workshop series, the ESG Spring and Fall conferences, and the Ŀ; Business Law Meter blog.

In 2023, the OSF and the Business Law Platform inaugurated the Transformative Business Law Summer Academy, an international, week-long, intensive policy research and writing institute. The 2023 Academy published the internationally recognized , setting the precedent for the second rendition of the Academy from 4-9 May, 2025.
