Sustainability Ambassador Program

The Sustainability Ambassador Program (SAP) is a year-long volunteering opportunity for students to promote sustainability on campus by leading engagement activities with the °Ä¿Í¾º²Ê community.Ìý

About the Sustainability Ambassador ProgramÌý

The SAP offers a platform for students to apply their skills and creativity in order to grow the sustainability movement at °Ä¿Í¾º²Ê. The program provides training in sustainable leadership by offering students opportunities to introduce the °Ä¿Í¾º²Ê community to sustainable initiatives carried out by the °Ä¿Í¾º²Ê Office of Sustainability as well as those championed by other units on campus.Ìý

The SAP has three streams.Ìý

Sustainability Projects Fund (SPF) Ambassador

Sustainability Projects Fund (SPF) Ambassadors champion the SPF, the largest fund of its kind in Canada, through an array of outreach initiatives and encourage the development of new sustainability projects on campus.

SPF Ambassadors generate grassroots change at °Ä¿Í¾º²Ê by gaining community engagement skills in diverse settings and becoming experts in sustainable change on campus.

Sustainable Events Ambassador

Sustainable Events Ambassadors coordinate with °Ä¿Í¾º²Ê event organizers to help design events in the most sustainable ways possible.

Sustainable Events Ambassadors become leaders and trusted representatives of the °Ä¿Í¾º²Ê sustainability community by collaborating with organizers and teaching them how to embed sustainable best practices into their event planning.

Sustainable Lab Ambassador

Sustainable Lab Ambassadors promote resources and demonstrate green practices to reduce the environmental footprint of °Ä¿Í¾º²Ê's world class teaching and research labs.

Sustainable Lab Ambassadors work closely with lab-based staff and students to build a culture of sustainability and advanceÌý°Ä¿Í¾º²Ê's zero-waste and carbon neutrality targets in lab contexts.
