Biography: 

Josée Lavallée (she/her) is a proud Red River Métis woman from Winnipeg and an active member of the Manitoba Métis Federation’s Bison Local. A dedicated nurse and educator, Josée holds a Bachelor of Nursing from Université de Saint-Boniface and a Master of Science in Community Health Sciences from the Max Rady College of Medicine at the University of Manitoba. 

With a clinical background rooted in community health, Josée has devoted much of her career to advancing Indigenous health and wellness, particularly through research, education, and mentorship. Her work is grounded in relational approaches and community partnerships that promote culturally safe and anti-racist care. 

Josée is the inaugural Director of the Office of Social Accountability in Nursing (OSAN) at °Ä¿Í¾º²Ê’s Ingram School of Nursing, where she also serves as a Faculty Lecturer in Indigenous Health. In this dual role, she leads initiatives aimed at embedding equity, anti-racism, and social justice within nursing education, research, and practice. 

Through her leadership, Josée continues to advocate for systemic change and the creation of learning environments that honour Indigenous knowledges, sovereignty, and self-determination.
